As many of you know, there are a lot of groups that are out of date and no longer relevant. The problem is, we don't know which are active, and which aren't. So we need your help.

If you are leading or the admin for a group, and are planning an event this year, please update the title of your group to the following format:

City, State/Providence, Country - 2011

Here's how you make that change:

  • Go to group home page
  • > Options
  • > Edit Group
  • Make change to group name
  • > Save

Please note: Inactive groups will be marked for deletion by November 1, 2011.

Don't forget to let us know if you're a local leader. We need to hear from you

I dont see where I can change the title of my page?

Here's how you make that change:

  • Make change to group name

Our group will be serving at 3 locations in 3 different cities. I have renamed it based on our county. I hope that is okay.
I would list the cities in the titile, just so people who aren't familiar with your group can find it.

Our group page "owner" is no longer involved. Is there a way to establish a new admin for the page or could you make the change for us? None of us have the ability to edit the page (which would be really nice for other reasons too).

We are New York Capital District at this time. I guess we would be:

Capital District, New York, USA - 2011

If you must have a city name (instead of Capital District) it would be Albany.

(more than 1 week's notice for this group deletion would have been nice, BTW)

Cynthia...we can change the admin for you easily...we just cant change the owner. 

Message me who you want to be the admin and I'll get it changed.

Not finding Options, either.
I see that there are multiple groups from PHL - is there a merge function for this?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to merge two groups.

I just noticed this post and have not had access to the internet until today...and I noticed my group was removed.   Ahugghh!!!!!  Do I need to create it again and have people join?  We definitely have a one set up and need to fix this.

Sorry for the inconvenience. Any inactive group (no activity for 4 months) was removed so that it's easier for folks to connect with the up-to-date groups in their area. Feel free to create a new one, or join a group that's already in set-up in your area.

I am leading the Louisville, KY group this year. Scotty Perry led it last year (I was not involved yet), so I'm guessing he is considered the owner, but he is not doing it this year. How can I be in charge of our group?
