Ubuntu Help-Portrait is hosting shoots in Soweto to celebrate Help-Portrait Day on Saturday, 10 December 2011
Click here to read all about the days events and click here to download a note with all the information and maps you will need.
This entry is for information purposes only. Each portrait event has been created separately and you may click here to view the list of shoots and RSVP for any that you wish to attend.
All volunteers will be meeting at Sakhumzi's Restaurant [6980 Vilakazi Street, Orlando West. GPS coordinates: S26 14’20.6 E27 54’ 35.0 or -26.239051, 27.909817] at 08h00 before the shoots. Click here for recommended directions to the meet point.
At 13h30 volunteers will re-group again at Sakhumzi's for buffet lunch [R120 per person] and to hand over images.
All we're asking you to do is come and shoot portraits. You don't need to edit them - we'll do that for you [because we have to print all images on Monday 12 December].
These will be the last Free Portraits events for the 2011 season and we'd love you to join and help us set a new bench-mark for the most number of portraits taken in a single day!
Photogs: all welcome

Comment by Ubuntu Help-Portrait on December 9, 2011 at 4:10pm @Hannes: ...it might be better if that "other"brand also handled noise as effectively :-)

Comment by Ubuntu Help-Portrait on December 9, 2011 at 3:55pm @Hannes and Karin: 1500/4 hrs = 375 portraits per person per hour. I know my "brand" of camera can keep up but I'm not sure about [other "brands" and] if people can walk that fast!
Comment by Karin Olivier on December 9, 2011 at 3:02pm I don't see the problem. ;-)
Comment by Hannes Bronkhorst on December 9, 2011 at 2:49pm 26000 /17 = 1500 per person hehehe
Comment by Ubuntu Help-Portrait on December 9, 2011 at 1:40pm @Rashida: Thank you, thank you. In all, there are 17 of us lining up tomorrow!
Comment by Rashida Mangera on December 9, 2011 at 1:22pm Have a great day, everyone.
Comment by Karin Olivier on December 9, 2011 at 1:00pm Well Boys - Doesn't really matter ;-) Let go out get them and well if all else fails we will ALWAYS have McDonalds.
I really look forward to hitting it hard and see a smile on the face of the max amount of peeps.
